If you are young and in your teens, it is much easier to get into acting and performing arts schools. There are some schools that are especially for teenagers, which mix performing arts with normal academic subjects. One of the best and most famous is Sylvia Young Theatre School, which also offers subjects in music and dancing as well as acting.
If you are too old to start one of these schools, you can take an acting course at university. Universities accept mature students, so as long as you have your school certificates and some basic performing skills, you can get a place at one of the many drama or performing arts faculties across the country.
